POP ROC Hosts The Inaugural
NATIVE. MADE. MARKET
Join the community on Small Business Saturday to shop local, and shop small, by shopping NATIVE. MADE. On Saturday November 26, 2022, POP ROC is hosting the NATIVE. MADE. Market at 45 Euclid Street, Rochester, NY 14604 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This gathering brings Native creatives, businesses, educators and other community change agents together in an effort to immerse people into Native culture in an engaging, meaningful and impactful way.
"This event is more than a market! It is an opportunity for communities to honor and learn about Native culture through intimate conversations. Rather than absorbing colonized history through the looking glass of museums and institutional textbooks; we are working to build foundational relationships. The NATIVE. MADE. event brings a diverse group of Indigenous peoples and Allies together to share that we are HERE. We are active members in our communities; and we are choosing to be part of a new fabric being woven for generations to come." Angelina Hilton, Event Curator, POP ROC Co-founder, Member of Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska and of Iowa descent.
Join us on Thanksgiving weekend to honor Native culture of the past, present and future. The event is free and open to the public. POP ROC provides safe space for communities to build relationships with one another. The NATIVE. MADE. Market has been created for this purpose. This event provides an opportunity to engage with Indigenous enrolled members and descendants of over 10 different tribes and their Allies. Guests can also support by shopping Native accessories, apparel, paintings, sculptures, bead art, and MORE!
